The service

1BritsPOV publishes source-led accounts of reported historical sightings and unexplained events, with links to the associated YouTube channel. The website is a personal, non-monetised hobby project operated by Mathew Luby, an individual based in England. Contact: 1britspov@gmail.com.

Cases contain reported claims, editorial summaries and competing explanations. We aim for accuracy and traceability, but records may be incomplete, mistaken or revised. A marker can represent an approximate reported area; it is not an invitation or permission to visit private, hazardous or restricted land. Case labels, source labels, view counts and credibility votes must be read with their explanations.

Accounts

Browsing is free and does not require an account or age confirmation. You must be 18 or over to create or use a community account. We ask you to confirm this when signing in. This is self-confirmation, not identity-document verification. Use the sign-in methods available on the website and protect access to your email or Google account. Never send us a password or one-time login code.

You remain responsible for your contributions. Use a display name that does not impersonate someone. We may restrict access for reasons described in the Acceptable Use and Moderation policies, with an opportunity to request review. You may request account closure using the contact address.

Your content and our content

You retain ownership of material you contribute. You give 1BritsPOV a non-exclusive permission to store, display and technically format that contribution to operate the website and its associated moderation and correction records. This does not transfer ownership or grant an unrestricted commercial licence. Separate permission will be sought before using a substantive contribution in a channel video or unrelated promotion. Removal and necessary residual records are handled under the Privacy Notice.

Standalone sightings remain private unless you separately permit an edited public version. That permission covers publication within Community sightings or as a labelled user-submitted archive case, including the reviewed text, date, general location, approximate map pin and evidence link. You can remove permission through My account. Separate permission remains necessary for use in a channel video or unrelated promotion.

Our original text and branding, and third-party material, retain their respective rights. You may link to a case. Further reuse depends on permission, the relevant licence or applicable law. Attribution alone does not create permission.

Links, availability and changes

External links lead to separately operated services with their own content and rules. We do not guarantee their availability or endorse every claim they contain. We do not automatically embed third-party posts or accept direct media uploads in release one.

We may correct cases, improve features or temporarily interrupt access for maintenance or safety. We will explain material changes to these terms and give reasonable notice when practicable. Immediate protective or legally required changes may happen sooner. These terms do not exclude or restrict rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Please contact us first about a concern. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory legal protections or prevents you from bringing proceedings in a court where applicable law permits you to do so.
