Track the unexplained. Judge the evidence.

1BritsPOV welcomes careful scepticism, first-hand accounts, reasoned disagreement and new sources. You do not need to believe a claim to discuss it respectfully. Critique the evidence and reasoning; do not attack a witness, researcher or another visitor.

Separate what a source records from what you infer. Say when a statement is a recollection, allegation, hypothesis, reconstruction, edited image or AI-generated material. An unexplained report does not establish an extraordinary explanation, and a disputed explanation is not proof of deception.

Make contributions useful

Keep contributions relevant to the case. Add a direct source link and, where possible, its author, publication date and the passage or evidence that matters. Prefer original records, official releases and contemporaneous reporting. An official source can still have limits; Wikipedia and other summaries are useful starting points, not substitutes for checking their citations.

Explain why you find a case credible or weak. Credibility votes represent community opinion, not a scientific result or factual ruling. Do not coordinate votes, create extra accounts or pressure people to adopt a position. Disclose relevant involvement, sponsorship or a connection to a source you recommend.

Protect people

Do not publish someone’s private contact details, precise home location, identity documents, private messages or other identifying information that creates an unnecessary risk. Avoid naming uninvolved private people. Do not diagnose witnesses, mock perceived vulnerability or encourage others to contact or confront them.

Do not post harassment, hate, threats, stalking, impersonation, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate material, graphic abuse, extremist promotion, scams or encouragement of self-harm or dangerous conduct. Educational context does not justify linking to unlawful or exploitative material.

Links and participation

An account is required for on-site contributions, votes and reports. There are no direct media uploads in release one. Submit safe links, such as a relevant YouTube video or X post, with context; a platform being allowed does not make every item on it acceptable. Do not use disguised destinations, unsolicited promotions, repeated text or meaningless posting to overwhelm a discussion.

Ordinary case discussion is intended to publish promptly, subject to screening. Standalone sighting submissions always begin in private review and require publication permission and administrator approval before release. Suspected abuse or spam may be held, rejected or hidden for review. A moderation action is not a verdict on your view of a case. Trusted contributors follow the same standards.
