What was reported?
Five Sodder children were unaccounted for after their family home burned early on Christmas Day 1945. Authorities concluded they died in the fire; their parents disputed that conclusion.
George and Jennie Sodder and four children escaped. The family later pursued alleged sightings, commissioned searches and displayed a roadside appeal. Reports of threats and odd events became central to their belief that the children survived, but do not independently establish kidnapping or identify a perpetrator.
