What was reported?
Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared with 239 people aboard on 8 March 2014. Evidence places its final flight in the southern Indian Ocean, but the main wreckage has not been confirmed.
The Boeing 777 departed Kuala Lumpur for Beijing before communications and tracking changed. Military radar and later satellite exchanges provided indirect evidence for its continued flight. Aircraft debris recovered on western Indian Ocean shores supports an ocean loss without locating the fuselage.
